eset security review
ESET’s suite provides the best value-for-money. Its malware detection rate is close to perfection, and the suite packs an impressive array of additional features in a small footprint. The premium version comes with parental controls, a secure browser, and a password manager as well as the Android package includes a anti-theft feature that helps you locate your lost phone. The network protection features are also excellent, including an option to block access to your network and to check your home devices for weaknesses.
SysInspector is an outstanding tool. It provides a snapshot of important Registry entries and running processes. It can be a bit intimidating for beginners. But, if you are familiar with extended task managers, such as those found in Sysinternals' process explorer you’ll feel at ease.
Scheduling scans at a specific time is a great feature. This is an excellent alternative to real-time security as it’s quick and easy to use. It’s a pity that ESET does not group this with other scheduling tasks and its UI makes it a bit harder to find than some of its competitors.
The password manager is user-friendly and comes with a lot of features. It’s an extremely effective form filler that can be used for online banking. The password manager is available only in the premium version, and requires an trusted virtual data room providers ESET account, but it works as well as the other standalone solutions I’ve tried.
